This year, we’re celebrating 25 years of Globema! For this occasion, we’ve prepared a brief summary of the past years. Read on to also find out what’s in the future of our company!

Globema in the past and today

Our beginnings

anniversary-logo

Globema was established at the end of the ’90s. Its founders aimed to introduce modern GIS (Geographic Information System) solutions to the Polish market.

At the beginning of Globema’s existence, we formed a partnership with Smallworld, a British company. Smallworld created a platform for developing network inventory solutions for energy, district heating, gas/oil, and telecommunications companies. Thanks to this partnership, we expanded our portfolio with our own industry applications based on a reliable system created by a distinguished producer.

In 2000, Smallworld was acquired by General Electric (GE). Globema not only expanded its collaboration with GE but also gained a GE Electric Business Partner title. We also became the only company with the Smallworld software Value Added Reseller status in Poland.

Over the years, we formed partnerships with other leading tech companies in the area of geospatial solutions. We are a Google Premier Partner in the area of Google Maps products and services. We’re also partners with Safe Software, a Canadian company that created the FME Platform for data processing and integration.

Research & Development activities

A crucial part of our operations is Research & Development. Nearly from the beginning of Globema’s existence, we’re engaged in R&D projects co-financed by the European Union and other institutions. In 2012, the Polish Ministry of Economy granted us the official Research & Development Center title. We maintain it to this day.

We work on our R&D projects together with leading Polish universities (such as Warsaw University of Technology, Łódź University of Technology, or the University of Warsaw) and other research facilities. Our projects mainly focus on solutions based on artificial intelligence and machine learning. They are intended for different industries, including energy and renewable energy sectors.

Last year we celebrated the 10th anniversary of our Research & Development Center. For this occasion, we interviewed its director, Tomasz Gulczyński. Click the button below and enjoy reading! 😊

Despite all the growth and changes over the past 25 years, Globema’s unique atmosphere and friendly team is what remains the same 😊

Over 25 years of Globema, we managed to create a unique team, atmosphere, and company culture. I think our team is the reason we exist for such a long time and keep on growing.

What are our plans for the future?

We want to continue our strategy based on the main four pillars of our operations. We plan to reach out with our products and services to new industries and markets, including foreign markets.

First of all, we want to keep on developing our Network Asset Management activities. We'll further develop our network inventory systems based on the Smallworld software for the telecom and other network industries.

The second element we'll emphasize is our partnership with Google in the area of map services. We also want to keep growing our Field Service Management tools and introduce them to new industries. The fourth area we'll focus on is the broad data management domain. International relations, especially with American organizations, are very important to us.
