How do we celebrate?

It’s been over two decades of Globema’s existence, and we’re not resting on our laurels!

For 25 years, we’ve been delivering specialized geospatial solutions and a wide range of IT products and services.
We support you in network asset management and field service management. We help you maximize the potential of digital maps. We guide you through every step of the system and enterprise integration, data digitization, and digital transformation.

We’re constantly growing and setting new, ambitious goals. We create new products, some of which are based on AI/ML (have you already heard about our iDoc? 😉). We also expand to serve new industries (e.g., insurance) and countries (did you know we have clients in 54 countries, such as Malta, Egypt, and South Korea?). We design innovative solutions for our Research & Development projects (primarily for the energy sector, including RES).

All this so we can support companies and organizations in tackling arising challenges. Whether you’re a large American telco operator or a Polish company transporting and assembling furniture in Western Europe – we’re there for you!

The beginnings of our company go back to the turbulent 90s. That’s when several bold people with their heads full of ideas decided to bring innovation to the Polish industry. They started with telecommunications…

During the 25 years of Globema’s existence, we created a unique team, atmosphere, and company culture. I think that the team is the reason we’ve been around for so long and grow continuously. Many people have been working with us for over 10 and 15 years.

Our operations were always motivated by our desire to make positive changes with innovative solutions. Despite the passage of years and all the transformations, our values remain unchanged.

1997

→ Marek Gondzio established Globema together with Maria Gondzio.

→ In 1998 they were joined by Marek Maniecki, and in 2002 by Ryszard Rybus – they are all graduates and employees of the Institute of Computer Science at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology.

→ The company was established with the intention of introducing GIS systems based on the modern Smallworld platform to the Polish market.

1998

→ We established a formal partnership (VAR – Value Added Reseller) with a British company, Smallworld.

→ We completed the first implementations of the Smallworld system for Netia (a Polish telco operator) and Stoen (an energy operator).

→ We participated in the first research and development project co-financed under the 4th EU Research Program, called INSPIRE.

1999

→ We started our first implementation in the heating sector at ZEC Łódź (a district heating company), which is now part of Veolia Poland.

2000

→ GE Energy acquired Smallworld, and therefore, Globema began a partnership with GE Energy.

→ We developed and implemented proprietary applications based on the Smallworld GIS software intended for network inventory in the energy and heating sector – respectively EL.GIS and DH.GIS.

2001-2003

→ As part of our contract with GE Energy, we provided technical support services for our partner and its customers from the EMEA region in the field of Smallworld telecommunications products.

2004

→ We opened a branch in Prague, Czechia – this is the beginning of our activity in Czechia and Slovakia and Globema’s first foreign branch.

→ We signed a Master Service Agreement with GE Energy.

2006

→ Marek Gondzio received the Info Star award in the category of business achievements, awarded by Polish IT organizations.

→ Globema became an authorized GE Smallworld training center.

→ We participated in developing the GE Smallworld Office Suite software under the Master Service Agreement.

2007

→ We opened another branch, this time in Bucharest, Romania, which also covers neighboring markets, incl. Bulgaria, Moldova, and Albania.

→ In the first year of operation of Globema RO, we started a large project – the implementation of a network inventory system in Telekom Romania.

2008

→ On behalf of and for GE Energy, Globema took over the development and maintenance of Logical Network Inventory (LNI), one of the key components of the GE Smallworld system for telecommunications customers.

→ We launched our first R&D project – District Heating Office (DHO), co-financed by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) under the Innovative Economy program. Later, it resulted in new modules and improvements in the DH.GIS system.

2009

→ We started two more R&D projects co-financed with EU funds: Software Development Center and ELGrid.

→ Globema was awarded a Forbes Diamond.

→ We established Value Added Reseller partnerships with companies from Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa for distributing Globema products.

→ We expanded our solution portfolio with Field Service Management FSM / Mobile Workforce Management MWFM systems.

2010

→ Our team already included 60 certified GE Smallworld software engineers. We completed the first implementation of the GE Smallworld Global Transmission Office at PERN – one of the biggest companies for oil transportation and storage in Poland.

→ We were awarded the title of a Silver Partner of Safe Software – producer of the FME Data Integration Platform.

→ This year, we also opened a branch in the United States, Globema US LLC, and we launched implementations for clients in the telecommunications sector!

2011

→ We signed a reselling agreement with GE Energy – Globema’s first products were added to the portfolio and price list of GE solutions for telecommunications.

2012

→ We completed the first implementation of a Work Force Management system at Emitel – a large telco operator.

→ We started our cooperation with Google as a Value Added Reseller for Google Maps.

→ We were granted the status of a Research and Development Center, awarded by the Minister of Economy, and we started new R&D projects: 4RES and MagMaster.

2014

→ Our cooperation with Google gained momentum – we received the highest partner status, Google Premier Partner!

→ We finished working on several R&D projects in the field of Smart Grid and created the following products: ELGrid and 4RES.

2015 – 2016

→ We developed and implemented the Command Support System for the State Medical Rescue (which we kept on developing and maintaining in the following years).

→ We introduced Globema’s FSM solution – GeoTask.

→ We received our 2nd Forbes Diamond.

2017

→ Our group of clients already included over 300 companies and institutions in more than 30 countries around the world!

2018

→ We received 4 grants for further R&D projects: GlobIQ, Soral, ESRS, and further development of ELGrid.

2020

→ Globema received an award in the Innovation and Development category in the ICT sector during the 12th TIME Conference, for developing and implementing innovative IT solutions based on maps, geospatial data, and artificial intelligence.

→ We were also honored with our 3rd Forbes Diamond.

→ We received the Google Location-Based Services Specialization.

2020 cont.

→ We added another module, Data Center Manager (DCM), to Globema’s portfolio of telecommunications solutions for GE Smallworld Physical Network Inventory (PNI) that includes Optical Network Atlas (ONA) and Physical Route Manager (PRM).

→ This year we opened another branch, in Belgrade, Serbia (Globema Adria), so that we can support clients from the Balkan and Adriatic regions more actively.

2021

→ The number of our clients has grown to over 700 from over 60 countries.

→ We launched new products created as a part of R&D projects: GlobIQ, Lv Topology, and further developed 4RES. All solutions use artificial intelligence algorithms, thus expanding our activities in the AI/ML area.

→ The company received its 4th Forbes Diamond Award.

2022

→ Our cooperation with GE Digital in the field of GE Smallworld reselling extended to new markets, including the USA, Canada, and several new European countries.

→ As part of the partnership with Google, we were awarded the Location-Based Services Specialization for the second time and the title of Google Cloud Premier Partner for the 7th time.

2022 c.d.

→ Globema gained a new shareholder – a private equity fund Avallon MBO from Poland. The fund acquired a majority stake in our company.
