Cooperation between Turkcell & Globema

We are pleased to announce that Globema has established a cooperation with Turkcell – the largest telecom operator in Turkey and the market leader in mobile services in EMEA region (Europe, Middle East & Africa).

Turkcell provides telecommunications services to approximately 35 million customers and is the first Turkish company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, where its shares have been traded since July 11, 2000 along with trading on the Istanbul Stock Exchange. One of the main shareholders of the company is a longstanding customer of Globema – TeliaSonera, a Nordic telecommunications operator, which holds 38% stake in the Turkish company.

Turkcell is the leading GSM operator in Turkey (supports 54% of the market) and Northern Cyprus. Turkcell also provides GSM services internationally – it has 9.6 million subscribers via Fintur Holdings and its affiliates in partnership with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Moldova. Turkcell’s Ukrainian majority-held business, Astelit, has 10.6 million subscribers.

Turkcell is the first customer of the Polish company on the Turkish market. In the first phase of cooperation Globema provided geospatial solutions for efficient development of network infrastructure and operational support.
