Field Force Automation at GPEC (utility company)

By WorkForce Management

Globema is finalizing the implementation of Field Force Automation (FFA) at GPEC (Gdańskie Przedsiębiorstwo Energetyki Cieplnej) – the main district heating distribution network operator in Northern Poland. The project will be finished on 6th April.

The work force management system will become a crucial element of the currently carried out project that aims is to optimize major business processes at GPEC. GE Field Force Automation, which was selected through a public tender process, will be used by 110 field teams, operating across the seaside cities of Gdansk and Sopot.

At GPEC, the FFA has been integrated with the GIS, Workflow, ERP and Active Directory. Since all these systems come from various vendors, the project was a big integration challenge. Additionally, FFA at GPEC has been interfaced with Google maps as a landbase data source and routing engine as well as with the NFC tags to handle work orders.

FFA implementation results

The expected benefits of FFA implementation at GPEC are, among others:

  • better task organization and increased customer satisfaction due to quicker task fulfillment and fast feedback on completed works
  • lower costs of task realization thanks to optimization of drive routes and simplification of the whole process
  • up-to-date information about completed and planed tasks
  • simpler and more effective field teams management

Project closure

On 23th February, solution stabilization period began. It will be finished on 6th April. Unfortunately the project completion is delayed because of the difficulties related to implementation of the newest version of FFA system (one of the first implementations of FFA v. 12 worldwide). As a compensation of this inconveniences for GPEC, Globema offered free of charge extensions to the integrated solution which will increase the overall system’s business value.

New functionalities in GEO applications from Globema

By Google, Mobile, WorkForce Management

Globema is continuously developing its own applications based on Google GEO mapping technology. Since May 2012, when the company became the Authorized Reseller of Google GEO products for enterprise customers in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Globema is steadily expanding its product and services portfolio in this part of the business.

GeoTransporter – better planning of routes for the heavy transportation

The GeoTransporter application is used for planning and optimizing driving routes for logistics companies.

The new version of the application will take into account the current traffic situation and obstacles on the road, which are particularly important in case of heavy transportation. GeoTransporter will combine features such as Street View and satellite images with traffic congestion. These elements are of particular importance to the dispatcher and drivers, who every day need to identify the place of delivery, and avoid traffic incidents or unforeseen bottlenecks. In addition, the combination of visualization of places and routes with the data on the current traffic situation, will allow application users to bypass traffic jams and obstacles on the road and – in long run – contribute to the reduction of transportation costs .

GeoMarketing – extended analytical functionality

Geomarketing application allows its users to create and display spatial business analysis that support decision-making process in the area of sales, marketing and customer service. Through a combination of internal company data and socio-demographic information with the new, advanced analytical functionality, GeoMarketing allows to create complex market scenarios. With the new analytical tool it is possible to explore the potential of the given market or customer group, as well as to plan sales and distribution structures, basing on multiple criteria, such as population density, demographic structure of the region, the consumers purchasing power.

Globema integrates FFA with CRM, ERP & OSS

By WorkForce Management

Globema’s expertise and experience in implementing FFA is constantly growing. The company is running projects of integrating Field Force Automation with CRM, ERP and OSS systems.

For one of its clients Globema is integrating FFA with the two modules of the IFS system: HR (for managing of mobile staff working time) and Investments Planning (in the scope of investment works performed in the field).

As for the CRM integration, Globema’s works made possible the comprehensive exchange of scheduled and planned tasks & reports between FFA and Clarify. FFA supports handling customer requests and problems reported and raised through the Clarify system.

For yet another client, the FFA system, after its integration with NetCracker, is able to identify all the resources (including part-time availability only) and infrastructure which are available for field works and operations on a specific telecom network.

FFA implementation at EmiTel completed

By Telecommunications, WorkForce Management

EmiTel, the leading terrestrial radio and TV broadcast infrastructure operator in Poland, selected Field Force Automation (FFA) for their new workforce management solution. The implementation stage has started at the beginning of 2012 and was successfully completed after 6 months of intensive work. Now, FFA is being used by EmiTel’s mobile crew of 300 technicians.

Under the agreement Globema has delivered, configured and implemented the system. Some adaptations to customer’s specific requirements were introduced (such as reports and tools for managing balanced work time). FFA was also integrated with selected applications used at EmiTel. Currently Globema provides support and maintenance services after the implementation.

One of the key elements of implementation phase was adapting mechanisms of tasks allocation to specific requirements of Polish Labour Code. Dedicated solutions ensuring sustainable working time and optimizing the allocation of tasks were developed.
