After the acquisition of two telecom operators: Dialog and Crowley Data Poland in August 2011, Netia has decided to extend its Network Inventory System implemented by Globema in 2000. The company determined to upgrade Smallworld to the latest version (4.3) and to implement additional functionalities and applications developed by Globema (PRM & OPS) to support operations. Smallworld-based NIS is applied to new acquisitions & replacing ESRI-based legacy application used by Dialog.

Globema will perform the migration of the NIS and Netgraph systems, used previoustly by Netia, to the newest version of the GE Smallworld 4.3 platform. The two systems will be merged into one coherent Inventory System. Network data will be also available from the integrated web application: NIS.Web. Another element of the project is to integrate the Inventory System with CRM system, so that the processes associated with customer service will be performed faster. The new version of the NIS will also include additional modules developed by Globema: Physical Route Manager and Optical Path Scheme. The main benefit from this implementation is the improvement of efficiency, reduction of costs, building competitive advantage and growth in customer satisfaction from provided B2B & B2C services.
