The implementation of Smallworld-based DH.GIS system at PEC Gniezno has been completed according to the schedule. PEC Gniezno provides heat energy to citizens of the first historic capital city of Poland. The heating network of PEC Gniezno consists of 232 nodes and over 40km of pipelines.

The project took 6 months. During that time Globema implemented the core system functionality and the following modules:

  • Dispatcher
  • Outages
  • Alarm network
  • Calculations
  • Rights of way

The implementation also covered network data capture from raster and vector maps and the billing system, as well as integration with the telemetry system. At the end of the project, Globema organized a training for the system users at PEC. Currently Globema provides service and maintenance of the solution.

Why DH.GIS?

PEC Gniezno decided to implement the new heating network management system and replace the previously used software mainly due to:

  • The functionality delivered by specialized system modules
  • Compatibility with the complex telemetry system implemented at the company
  • Integration with hydraulic calculations
  • The ease of use, both in terms of the web browser as well as the full desktop version of the system.
